I contact every hotel in our list of Pattaya joiner friendly hotels to confirm their policy regarding bringing unregistered and/or short term guests back to you room. While most places in Pattaya are good with it, you will find some Pattaya hotels are joiner UNfriendly. By this I mean they try to discourage the kind of guest that brings bargirls and freelancers back to their room. These are mostly either places catering to families or high end places.
What is a Joiner Unfriendly Hotel?
A hotel that is not joiner friendly or joiner free may be considered unfriendly to bargirls, ladyboys and freelancers in a small number of different ways.
Joiner Fee
The most common way in which a hotel in Pattaya could be considered joiner unfriendly is simply charging an extra fee, most typically 500 Baht (though I have seen 1000 Baht) if you want to bring an unregistered guest back to your room. These places don’t really have an issue with working girls, they are just trying to make a little extra cash, or maybe trying to recoup some of the expense of the extra water she will use in the shower or extra towels she will use that need to be laundered.
Passive aggressive hostility
Some places are unwelcoming and are not shy in trying to let you know. Even if they take a joiner fee the staff might be a little cold to you or look at you judgmentally. Though rest assured almost nobody will openly say anything negative to you. Other things might be they don’t allow your girl to have breakfast, or use the pool etc, though this is rare.
Family Focused hotels
A subset of what I call Joiner Unfriendly hotels are hotels and resorts that are targeting and cater to families. While the hotel staff may not be trying to make you feel unwelcome, you might feel awkward parading your girl around lots of families with young kids- it adds another level onto the walk of shame. You may also have to deal with distasteful looks from angry wives and forlorn and jealous glances from said wives’s husbands. If you don’t mind this kind of thing, hotels in the category might be fine for you.
List of verified Pattaya Joiner Unfriendly Hotels
Below are the hotels that I found to be Joiner Unfriendly.
- Balihai Bay Hotel
- 500 Baht fee per joiner per day. Joiners cannot have breakfast and must leave by midday the next day. (Good luck waking her up by midday!)
- Mercure Pattaya
- 500 Baht joiner fee however, this Pattaya hotel allows 18 year old girls. Ladyboys welcome.
- Tropicana Hotel
- 1000 Baht (!) if you book a room for 2 people and are actually staying alone.
I will keep adding to this list as I discover them and will move hotels here from the Master List of Pattaya joiner friendly hotels if I get feedback that their policy has changed.
